After successfully passing, she moved to South Korea to begin her trainee period. She trained for four years before debuting as the main vocalist and lead dancer of Blackpink in August 2016. The group quickly rose to international fame with hits like “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” and “Kill This Love.”
In March 2021, Rosé made her solo debut with the single album “-R-,” featuring the lead single “On the Ground” and b-side “Gone.” “On the Ground” achieved significant global success, breaking records for a Korean female soloist, including topping the Billboard Global 200 chart and becoming the most-viewed music video by a Korean solo artist in its first 24 hours on YouTube. While Blackpink’s group activities continue under YG Entertainment as of December 2023, Rosé, along with the other members, did not renew their individual contracts with the agency. In 2024, she signed with The Black Label for her solo activities in South Korea and Atlantic Records for her international promotions. A highly anticipated recent project is her collaboration with Bruno Mars on the hit single “Apt.,” released in late 2024, which serves as the lead single from her debut full-length solo album, “Rosie,” also released in December 2024. “Apt.” topped charts worldwide, including in South Korea and Australia, and achieved a top-three position in the US and UK, marking significant milestones for a Korean female soloist. Rosé is also recognized for her influence in fashion, serving as a global ambassador for brands like Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co.
